In Asia's world there are no borders and no boundaries; not geographically, not musically. everything musical asia touches blurs and combines genres and influences. Whether it's her singer/songwriter rock music that brings serious classical piano skills and masterful arrangements or an orchestral piece that draws on blues or metal. All is fair game, all is a personal expression.

Classically trained as a pianist and choral singer in the Jerusalem Conservatory, Asia made the change to popular music by obtaining a degree in contemporary writing and production from Berklee College of Music in Boston. After years of work in the music industry, Asia obtained a masters in classical composition from the University of Massachusetts Amherst.

Asia's singer/songwriter releases rest on that mix influences, seamlessly blending them together into unique, catchy, thoughtful and heartfelt morsels. Shards ('06), Big Apple Tree ('09), Introverse ('11), Trauma and Solace ('16) and Songs Without Words ('18) all capture personal journeys and evolution of moving, searching, loss, belonging and solace. Asia is now working on her 6th album.

 

Asia is the 2015 winner of the Ben Steinberg young composer award for Jewish choral music, and the finalist of the 2018 Stephen Paulus choral composition competition. Other professional credits also involve studio work, string arrangements for artists such as John Wesley Harding and Annie Gallup, musical direction, production and side musician gigs from Broadway to Reggae.

Asia is was born in Russia, grew up in Jerusalem, Israel, went to college in Boston, worked in NYC, went to grad school in western Mass. Asia now lives in Boston with husband musician and scholar Andres Wilson and musical children Eden, Liam and baby Naomi. Asia works as a choral director at the Dexter Southfield school and a freelance pianist and musical director.
